Most of us think of Aromatherapy as lighting candles to create a certain atmosphere and set a mood.
That is one way to experience aromatherapy but the use of Essential Oils goes way beyond that.
Each
oil has a unique chemical composition that enables it to address specific conditions. For example, lavender
contains an analgesic and antidepressant, as well as other properties. It is often used in skin care, for
headaches, and in treating depression.
Therapeutic grade oils are extremely concentrated and most have to be diluted before they can be applied to the skin.
The oils can be experienced in a variety of ways. Some of the most common methods involve inhalation,
combining them with a carrier oil/lotion and applying to the skin, adding to bath water, or applying them in a compress.
It is common to create a ‘blend’ containing more than one
oil to address multiple needs or symptoms for a client. For this reason, it is important that we understand
any medical conditions you have and gain an understanding of your emotional state at a high level.
I look forward to working with you to create your personal blend.
